wellyd 0 Report post Posted May 16, 2009 (edited) Hi folks, after my last character-less car ended life just recently with a repair bill bigger than it's price tag I have decided I want to join your ranks and get myself something stylie!! I have decided that the E30 seems to fit my criteria....I am sure that would/could spark a fair bit of debate.....but I like them, and I have had enough of vanilla for now. Has anyone seen this add? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-218976042.htm I'm in Wellington, so buying blind as far as a chance to kick the tyres and look under the hood goes! Cheers in advance for any advice you can offer to a E30 virgin! David G Edited May 16, 2009 by wellyd
mtech1e30 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 You need to work out how much you want to spend, what engine size you are after, manual or auto, 4 doors or 2 and alike. Once you know this you will be able to refine your choice.
39KiwiTouring 2 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 I've been looking myself remembering the newest E30 is now 17 years old Nanna spec ones are getting harder to find considering not many nanna's had them enthusiast ones are the best some of the ones owned by members on here for example. Hard to find them under 150k now a days although I only look on TM. Good luck with your search keen to buy that 305k coupe in P North for $500 reserve kiwi new might have a look at it this week. wellyd 0 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Thanks for that. My criteria are fairly broad. I don't care about doors/gearbox choices etc as much as I do about getting something straight and relatively original.....got close to a NZ new 325 down here in Welly recently but lack of car made it hard to get a view before it sold. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=213632189 This one has held my eye for a while, but I think the price is a tad high. There is another NZ new car on TM...for 2,250. Very tidy looking. David Edited May 17, 2009 by wellyd
1rotty 40 Report post Posted May 17, 2009 (edited) Mate, that 320 looks really nice. Leather looks in great nick & acceptable mileage for a 91. At 2995 is a bit high but hey no one gets asking price. I'd be giving him a ring. PS Welcome -great forum to be on if you've got a beemer. Edited May 17, 2009 by 1rotty
E30 325i Rag-Top 2957 Report post Posted May 18, 2009 Hard to find them under 150k now a days although I only look on TM. Good luck with your search keen to buy that 305k coupe in P North for $500 reserve kiwi new might have a look at it this week.I went to look at the coupe in Palmy North last week as a parts car to repair my race car. While I would honestly say it is too good for a parts car it is still definately in the "project" category. Would take a lot of work (time rather than $$$s for most of it), to get it to a good standard and reliable. There was also some very strange bidding on the last auction, which was why I pulled out. Then got offered the car as a fixed price offer, then it's relisted, now back up as a $1 NR auction, very strange!
wellyd 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2009 Thanks Jon, Saw that drama with the 2 door. Even had a bid or two....nothing to lose I thought. The other 2 door looks not too bad but I have not heard back from vendor. Drove a couple here, one on Sunday and one Wednesday. Wednesday car was the best one I have driven yet but with quite a bit of panel damage! She's a hard road finding the perfect E30!
