Help?

Recommended Posts

Okay, i need help with my bmw...i dont know what it is..

I have a black 1987 BMW M325?

I do know that its an E30, that it is 6 cylinders, and its really powerful/fast. I had never seen an M in front of the 325... im wondering if it is just a regular 325 and the owner before me added the M decal. I have a friend who loves bmws and owns 4, he told me that the M325 is a sport tuned version of the 325iS. Similarly, my father's friend looked at the car and said that its a special edition of the 325 because a relative of his special ordered a 1987 325 and he said it came with an M before the 325. Ive started to believe that its a sport tuned version 325. When people see my car they ask me why i put an M in front of the 325 and they dont believe me when i tell them that i got the car like that. So if anyone could help me, i really want to know what my car is. I LOVE this little car and i will never sell it. Thanks for taking time to read.

C Rod

Take a look at this thread... it should help you determine what your car is.

Guide to M325i

Is your car a four door? If so, it's not a genuine "M325i" or "325is". Just a badge.

The 'real' M325i is a car that was ordered and built from the factory as a M325i. They are only 2 door, and have special features (like 15" basketweaves and black headlining).

However, when E30s were sold new you could specify Motorsport options. This was basically the kit, although you could select every option that's standard on the M325i for your 320i. They was called 'Motorsport-spec' or 'M-tech' cars by the dealer, but the difference between one of these cars is that when it was being built in the factory it was known as a 320i, whereas 'genuine' M325i's were a M325i from the minute the body was being welded together.

Nope, but it could have motorsport options. For example, my car is a South African car that has the motorsport suspension setup installed from factory.
