Open Market Value (O.M.V)

Recommended Posts

came across this interesting chart published in Singapore.

The chart indicates prices of all cars sold in Singapore for the month of May 2009 (under the column total basic cost). More importantly, it shows the Open Market Value (O.M.V) of a particular car. A brand new 320i cost in the region of S$40K (or in equivalent NZ$42K) but a 320i purchased NZ New cost NZ$69K. What a rip off...

That $69K is not the OMV. Its the on the road cost.

The on the road cost for a SG registered 320i is an eye watering SG$155K with COE. (Certificate of Entitlement).

Shipping and freight plus dealer markup.

:)

Im investigating new parts in Singapore... Due to the price of vehicles there parts are a lot cheaper.

Shipping is a lot cheaper and if you get it on the right courier most of the time you can have next day delivery. Thats actually better than what BMW NZ can provide to its dealers! :) and without the 80-100% mark up. Sick of paying 500-600+ per sensor when other manufactures using the same Bosch technology are at least half the price.
