I didnt think there was a paint code Glenn. Im pretty sure they paint the wheel black, then a layer of 'silver' with a layer of lacquer over that.

The black is primer (undercoat) and the inside isnt painted with the shadow chrome. I want to get my mags redone and I want to try and get the paint code for the shadow chrome... and yes clear goes over it... no one can give me the paint code and I havent got a wheel to get a colour match with... I thought this was going to be easy ?

But thats what I mean mate. There is no paint code for 'shadow chrome' its not a paint, its an 'effect' you get with first painting the wheel black and then silver.

Im pretty sure there is no such thing as 'shadow chrome' paint

Apparently this is the company that supplies BMW with the Shadow Chrome. Not all wheel shops can do it as its quite involved and also its meant to cost a fortune ($2200 USD Option on the E39 M5 from factory). Martyn is correct that the black is a base.

I've just found this out this afternoon...its bloody dear

I might just go the new Audi R series colour for my wheels. Dark matt grey.. sort of like a flat gun metal colour

The shadow chrome colours also vary with different wheel manufacturers as well
