Aaron 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Have been doing some research on a brake upgrade for my E34 535is and seems like there are a few options, are the E34 540s for the fronts the best? Has anyone done this and what were your results. Also want to put a shortshifter kit in, whats the best to use?
3series 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Might be able to consider going to 750i brakes. IIRC Dave is running those in his E28 race car.

Aaron 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 Check this mate. Yeah ive seen this, it shows that an E34 540 front rotor is same diameter but 6mm thicker, wonder what improvement that would translate to in braking.
Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted July 4, 2009 I use E32 740's on the front, and e34 540's on the back, on the race car. I feel the heat is distributed better with more steel, and the backs are vented now. I't's all about keeping them as cool as you can.
