bellicose 9 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 I was always under the impression the 530i E34's were the baby V8, but apparently not. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1141463.htm
Guest Simon* Report post Posted July 30, 2009 Obviously some earlier 530's have the 3L M30 block so yes, this one's a six. The later (am guessing about '93) onwards facelifted 530's are definitely V8's. Interesting
Palazzo 477 Report post Posted July 30, 2009 A friend of mine had a black manual one some years back. English import, which I think most of the ones here are.
oldskool 4 Report post Posted August 3, 2009 (edited) Hey, Early 530i ran same motor as e32 730i, remember my dad having a e32 730 & wouldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding, think it may have just been the car but it was a brand new nz machine, his e28 728i that was the last one imported prior to the e32 coming out was a much better car performance wise...................... Think it is an ok motor & would no doubt perform better in the e34 body, dont think that they were ever an official import, as Palazzo says, pretty sure all 6 cly 530i are english imports. Not a patch on the V8, even if it is just a baby............................ Cheers Edited August 3, 2009 by oldskool
