bellicose 9 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 Well there's not much to say but........... I sure as f**k hope NZ never intros a bill like this. This is from the official CARS (cash for clunkers) site FAQ page, Q: What will happen to the car I trade in? A: The car will be sent to the salvage yard. Some parts may be kept but the engine and drive-train must be destroyed. Specifically the engine will be injected with a liquid glass solution to permanently disable the engine and it will be the responsibility of the dealer to make sure this is done to the engine. Hence the comments on the footage here. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/cash-for-...amp;PID=3323800
Jamez 2147483647 Report post Posted August 13, 2009 how sad, its going to drive the price of spare parts up, then again its going to take demand for them down, so effectively make the remaining cars worth more?
BlowMyWhistle 0 Report post Posted September 3, 2009 (edited) I read this a few weeks ago... I haven't been able to eat or sleep ever since, has affected me profoundly, I wake up at night, when I do sleep screaming. Notice whoever posted this did not leave a name, good call. my_e36 43 Report post Posted September 4, 2009 If someone is desparate enough, can't they pull the engine apart and rebuilt the engine? What's that "liquid glass" stuff anyway? Super Glue?
