Boost Junky 1 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) Hey guys, well finally got the E30 WOF'd and Regd Now im just ironing out all the minor issues and one major wheel fitment issue haha! One of the small issues is my wipers. Since the car was taken off the road ive noticed the wipers only work on the constant normal speed no matter what speed i have the wiper switch set on. They will not do intermitent or the fast speed and they also will not return to the bottom of the windscreen when i turn them off. They simply stop where i happen to turn the switch off. Have talked to one electrician and he said this could likely be my wiper relay? [edit] spelling Edited August 27, 2009 by Boost Junky
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 (edited) Had the same issue with the E30 I sold Max...I had to fit a second hand wiper motor. Get your sparky to check it properly for you. Edited August 27, 2009 by *Glenn*
martyyn 2 Report post Posted August 27, 2009 If its the wiper motor, they are not hard to take out, take apart and clean up. Usually the problem is a build up of dirty grease and crud on the contacts, especially if the wipers work fine when you hold the stalk down. If I can do it in an afternoon then anyone can ! Possibly.... take it out and remove the back off the gearbox and clean the contacts inside. Try that
