Need assistance with speedo not working

I need to get my speedo working again.

It was working fine til the day I took my diff out, put an LSD center in place off the open center and put the diff back in.

Yes the diff is exactly the same, other than having an LSD center.

Yes the speed ring was put onto the LSD center.

Yes I have tried other pickup sensors.

As soon as I put this LSD in, The speedo was sort of working, but somewhat erratic. It would jump up down and all over the place. Then after a little while would start working fine.

Now it doesn't work at all, it is completely dead..

Any ideas what could be wrong? I can't find how the wiring goes because I have traced wiring and found one cut, which I think I did myself when cutting away at the shielding. I wanna try my own wiring completely from the back to where ever it leads but I can't seem to find it anywhere.

Anyone able to measure the resistance between the 2 wires that go to the pickup sensor for me ?

You sure the chopper plate (speed ring) in the diff isnt loose ?

it looks fine peeping through through the speed sensor hole..

I traced the wires to a plug in under the rear seat, driver side. I connected my multimeter thing and the wires are beeping, meaning they are connected I guess but show really low (0.1ohm) resistance.

I don't get how continuty tests work, but it should be higher right??

What a PITA to work out.

How is one supposed to work on a circuit that works off a magnetic switch ? And I can't drive the car cos it's up on axle stands with a missing rear axle and no suspension..

Might have to leave this one for the BMW workshop
