M3_Power 636 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) So I had a spare steering wheel trim that was a bit beat up, so thought I'd give it a bit of DIY treatment ... with genuine Alcantara I imported a while back. Probably not to everyone's liking ... but meh .. I think it looks good Edited September 26, 2009 by M3_Power

M3_Power 636 Report post Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) Cheers for the comments fellas!! In all honesty it took me bloody ages. Alcantara's a pain in the butt to work with. Took me 3 tries as I kept getting glue on the wrong side of the Alcantara : ( Spray on glue was a bit harder to work with than I first thought. The material was imported from overseas ages ago (matches the Alcantara found in the CSL) and I've just had it sitting in the corner of my study. Had a spare set of CSL steering wheel trim lying around that was badly scratched and chipped from a used CSL steering wheel I purchased from overseas to refurbish (that's now in the car) ... this is the spare 'mint' steering wheel that I had in my car originally. I do think it turned out quite good, and looks the part - will get a photo of it in the car shortly!! Edited September 26, 2009 by M3_Power

M3_Power 636 Report post Posted September 27, 2009 Installed (I know the colour looks a little different between the steering wheel and the trim, but that's because the steering wheel is a different one to the one pictured above - this is my used 'driving' steering wheel, so it's a bit worn and beaten up)
