RyanG 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2009 Whats the deal with picking up abandoned cars off the side of the road? I rang the council, but the lady wasnt sure and I need to ring back tommorow. I remember we picked up an abandoned commodore off the side of the road once in tauranga, we rang the council and they said it was fine. Not sure if its the same here tho (hamilton). Anyone know? Guest FrantiC Report post Posted September 30, 2009 Check if the plates are live ? Otherwise i don't think it matters.. A few mates ditched a Holden gemini skid car down at a river round here when it rolld the tyres of the rear rims. A week later the car was flipped, all panels smashed in, windows smashed, but the really trippy thing is that the engine, driveshaft, gearbox, front suspension was all taken. We only went back to get the car battery back. Pretty surprised at what some people will do for an engine and box sitting in a car at the river! Car was de-regd anyways so didn't matter. RyanG 0 Report post Posted September 30, 2009 I dont think it has any plates on it. Would have to go for a drive to see if it has a rego in the window or not.
