RAYCER 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2009 (edited) Hi guys and girls, I'll have to apologise here - I am a member of a bunch of car club forums, mainly because I own cars that allow me to quantify my membership! Unfortunately in this case I don't own a BMW, but I was hoping somewhere on here might own one that can help me... I have a bit of a dilemma! My friends are getting married in Wellington this weekend (on Sunday) and I had arranged two brutal RX7's to deliver the bride and groom to the church - A black 450+kW race machine for the groom and a white kitted show pony for the bride. Would you believe the race car has blown up and the guy with the show car has just informed me he double booked for the weekend, and will actually be in Auckland... gaah! My parents have kindly offered the use of their Silver 1999 318i E46. What I'm basically after is either: - another silver 3 series E46 (ie: same colour, same series, different model) - another 318i E46 in white or black (ie: same model, different colour) Or, at a stretch, two really generous people in Wellington with matching cars! The bride doesn't really car what the cars are, as long as they "match" and are either both silver, or one black, one white. Shades of grey could also pass. Just not like, a red one and a blue one, for example! We have the ribbons already, and in it for the driver would be $50 and their choice of a box of their favourite beer or wine! I can possibly pitch in a bit more if we need it or if the driver has to travel a long way to get to the venue. Wedding is based in Wellington Central. Bride in Brooklyn, Groom in Evans Bay, Ceremony in CBD, Reception in Evans Bay. More detail can be provided if anyone can help. Time would be (TBC!!!) around 1:30ish to get the bride/groom to church. I will need to confirm what time they want to leave the church for photos and to get to the reception. Sorry for the stupidly long post! Please let me know ASAP if anyone can help, I'd appreciate it so much! Cheers, Rachel Edited April 2, 2012 by RAYCER

RAYCER 0 Report post Posted October 18, 2009 Do they get to attend the wedding too? Potentially? I'm sure I could arrange something, but would have to check with Bridezilla first!

Guest Simon* Report post Posted October 18, 2009 Don't pull the lady's chain boys, they're obviously in need of some proper help not some more wank about how great E30's are. Sensible suggestion would be another E46 sedan. Does anyone know of any in Welly? Perhaps even Paul's E34 535is - looks stunning in Black all cleaned up, and is a roomy 4 door with full black leather
RAYCER 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks Simon. I would really go with just about anything, to be honest, as long as the cars match. Just thought finding another E46 would be the easiest. Jason, your wagon is stunning! Is there another one in Wellington? Where are you based? (location says Hamilton) Really hoping to pull this together in the next couple of days, so any help would be so fantastic.
Guest Simon* Report post Posted October 19, 2009 That's ok Rachel Off the top of my head I can't think of a Welly member with an E46 but I could well be mistaken. Seeing as it's urgent I suggest you send a message to Paul (kiwi535) and have a chat to him about the possibility of using his mint E34 Here's a pic Martyn can you think of anyone down there? Hartage 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 I do indeed have a red e46 328i. Need a matching one now!
Guest Simon* Report post Posted October 19, 2009 Red and silver - not too bad!
RAYCER 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 Simon - thanks for the reference re: Paul's car. It's a beauty alright! However might not pair too well with the E46... Ian - Red could work...! I'll call the bride & groom and check. Red & Silver is by far the best option as yet. Are you free on Sunday afternoon???
RAYCER 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 Well, bugger. The bride has her heart set on cars of matching colours, either silver, white or black. She doesn't sound happy about red at all... ...honestly just wanting to cry right about now! Have we got any options for silver cars, assuming I have one already? DRTDVL 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 got an older family member that looks respectable? Go to the bmw dealership and take a silver 5 series for a test drive... spin a load about liking it but needing to talk to the partner... Then call back a few hours later asking if you could have it for an afternoon to get a good feel for the car. Mention that saturday your out of town and would it be possible for Sunday.... Funny you should suggest that - my partner said the same thing... My parents' original E36 was from Shelly's and I'm pretty sure they get the E46 serviced there, so could potentially make it work. I'm just a bit nervous about trying to do something like that, explaining that we need it for 2 hours etc. My partner's Dad works in finance at a car dealership in Lower Hutt, only problem is he's not in the country right now so we're doing our best to try and do a bit of a sneaky, even with him away! I'll keep trying. Seriously, you guys have been awesome so far, I really appreciate all the help and suggestions. As I said in a PM to Ian, it really is a testament to your club members and forum. Thank you!

Give they know you, they might be willing to help out.
RAYCER 0 Report post Posted October 19, 2009 Thanks guys - I'd seen that site (plus a few others too) Main problem is the cost... They have a pretty limited budget... Might have to come to that though!
