2002 1 Report post Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) This is first of a number of clubsport events Pukekohe Car Club will be holding over the summer, (actually it's #2 but the rain the other week changed all that) Most of the events will be on grass but the first one is on gravel at the Tuakau Saleyards. For a motokhana you require a car in good working order, if it doesn't have a WOF it will be subject to a safety check. closed footwear. You need to be a member of a club but you're allowed to do two events before you have to join. Check out the following for the last event that we held at this venue http://www.youtube.com/user/pointofsale It's likely that there will be a number of 1st timers (including my 13 year old daughter) so don't be embrassed about having a go Edit Map to venue , documentation at 10am Edited October 27, 2009 by 2002

2002 1 Report post Posted October 27, 2009 When's the next one? I can't make this one 28th Nov- Tarmac Hillclimb, Bright Rd Waiuku 29th Nov - Gravel Hillclimb, Murray Rd, Tuakau 13th Dec - Grass Motokhana, A & P showgrounds Pukekohe (this is also the clubs end of year prize giving and BBQ) 31st Jan - Grass Motokhana, Airfield Rd, Ardmore 14th Feb - Grass Autocross, venue tba Twight bent sprints (approx 6pm start) - Pukekohe park raceway 3 Feb, 17th Feb, 3 Mar, 17th Mar In theory all of these events can be done in a car without a cage, Motokhana - basically just turn up. Autocross's require club membership, helmet , fire extinguisher & overalls Sprints & hillclimbs generally also require a race license. Personally I wouldn't race up Murray Rd in a car without a cage. Check this google calender for up todate event info Also, do convertibles need roll protection? I don't believe they need it for motokana's
Roshen 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2009 ohh, really, i'd be interested. Is the stones ect going to mess up my wheels? also my cars a little bit lower than standard, so the grass may be a no-go. Is there any chance of tarmac. seriously interested, i'm just a beginner, and dont know what to expect... also whats the cost?
2002 1 Report post Posted October 27, 2009 ohh, really, i'd be interested. Is the stones ect going to mess up my wheels? also my cars a little bit lower than standard, so the grass may be a no-go. The A & P show grounds and the Saleyeards are fairly flat, I'd say if you can get a WOF you would probably be OK. Gravel dosn't appear to mark wheels, it's more the insides of guards and other paint work but only if you don't have reasonable mud flaps. Of course you can do the course with out spinning the wheels and everything will be fine. Put this way, I let my son and daughter do them in "Sally" but they're not allowed to go completely nuts with handbrake slides etc, the paint work and alloys appear to be fine. If they want to go completely ape sh*t they have to use "Inky" Is there any chance of tarmac. Later - in winter 2010, seriously interested, i'm just a beginner, and dont know what to expect... Come out and have a look anyway also whats the cost? $20 for a motokhana, $10 if you're under 18. Sprints/ hillclimbs around $
