Vent 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Hi chaps and chappettes.. I was wondering how available, and cheap/expensive, a set of front and rear chrome window surrounds would set you back, and how easy they are to install? I currently have the faded brown front and rear surrounds, and they just dont look right, compared to the chrome on the side windows... Any information would be helpful... Thanks
Deftones 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Are you talking about the chrome bit that lines the roof and the doors or the bits on the doors themselves? If you are wanting prices on the chrome that lines the roof and around windows, then you're probably looking at $1400 or so brand new (that was the price for the shadowlined 4 door one though). Would be easier to get from a wrecker if just the chrome bits though.
Vent 0 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Just the bits that line the window.. you can see what i mean by the front lining on this pic here: http://vent.orcon.net.nz/BMW/postsale/Lo-R...s/Leftfront.JPG see how the lining around the front window is darker in colour? $1400 for brand new? ouch... wreckers it is then! Thanks Deft..
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted January 11, 2005 Around the windscreen?? I think it is about $100 by a windscreen place (smith&smith ect...) They pull it out and put a new one in, mine are brown too. Some Hartge (Ian) know's had it done recently.

Vent 0 Report post Posted January 12, 2005 heh, thanks for the idea.. I might take your idea, and evolve it a bit, and buy some chrome spray paint.. If i was to go with black, id have to do the side surrounds too, and i cant be fscked doing that... so will consider doing front and rears with chrome.. Also, car will eventually be gloss black, so wanna prepare for that... chrome + black = shizzle, muh nizzle.. but just say NO to chrome wheels... :x
