antil33t 90 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 Hey, Does anyone know the dimensions of a M20 on a pallet? just thaught someone may have shipped one before and would know. Mainfreight reckons it will be around 120 dollars, I told them it was a smallish 6cyl engine on a pallet. and weights around 120kg. this site here suggests it's 117kg - http://www.bimmerforums.com/engine_faq.php The engine will have to be drained before shipping, so hopefully it's not going to cost more than 200 dollars to ship. cheers! Braeden320 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 Try Hookers or PBT if you wish to ring around $120 seems like a pretty decent price I would have thought?
antil33t 90 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 (edited) $120 is good but, was at a guess, I couldn't supply dimensions. I just said, it wasn't a huge 6cyl engine, on a Pallet, that weighed around 120KG. I guess I could ask the seller to measure? it's a bit difficult to measure the engine whilst it's in the car heh Edited November 24, 2009 by antil33t

antil33t 90 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 If it's not too much hassle, would be good thanks.
e30ftw 410 Report post Posted November 24, 2009 It's hard to work it all out cos the m20 sits on a lean... But broken down to 3 parts.. Block L - 720mm (Tip of the front crank bolt to rear of crank, no flywheel) W - 320mm (Widest point) H - 270mm Head and Intake L - 680mm (rear head hose to front cam cover) W - 500mm (from exhaust side of head to furthest tip of throttle body) H - 260mm (Hard to measure cos head and intake manifold sit at a weird angle to eachother) Sump L - 605mm W - 300mm (Bottem flat pan widest point) H - 140mm (Measured from the center) Probably easier to measure overall height in your car cos the oil pan is parallel with the intake manifold when the engine sits in the car,
