Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 C'mon Brent, out with it, what're you trying to say?
bmw.maniac 1 Report post Posted December 14, 2009 Yeah that's true - but doesn't that only apply for the first owner until it is a classic car? I thought the second owner of a non-classic LHD couldn't register it. The rules are confusing and always changing. They were when the last time I checked them out that if you had owned the vehicle in the country of origin for 6(? - maybe it's 12) months or more you could import to NZ and register without requiring a conversion. After you do this if the car changed owners within 5 years of importation it will void the permit and a conversion will be required, and you can only import an X amount of vehicles (1 every 5 years or something like that) per year under this rule. On the other hand, if it was first registered in the country of origin (registered, NOT built) more than 20 years ago it is deemed a classic and can be registered without requiring a conversion. elmarco 56 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 I'd rather have this - that car is hideous & LHD? Who would pay 200 slides for it? So that's what the Dacia 1300 actually looks like.... Probably more realistic than the one in Grahams thread. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....c=26998&hl=
Avenged.SSE 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2009 That price is so stupidily unrealistic... you can get these http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-260378499.htm + http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-257713804.htm and still come out better off, having a remaining 20k to spend on petrol. I'm a businessman & I'm wondering if you can negotiate on where the 20k budget surplus would be spent. How about 10k on Fuel & then 10k on alcoholic beverages?
