Sunvisor Electical Short

Recommended Posts

So driving in the car today and suddenly the stereo cuts out, the steering wheel rises up (like I've turned the car off) and power steering (feels like) disappears. Engine etc still running.

Wondering what the hell just happened, my girlfriend closes the passenger sun visor mirror cover and everything comes back to life.

I've had a look at it and I can see the nasty little blighter causing the issue. It's a small (unsheathed) copper wire which runs along the bottom of the mirror cover. How do I get at it to see how to fix the issue?

Now I know that someone is going to tell me to take it to somebody with a brain, but unfortunately I can't afford that at this time.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Colin

Sunvisors are one piece AFAIK mate, at least mine are on my e36. Might need to find a replacement if the mirror light is causing it.

Just don't let the gf check her make up in the car and you'll be sweet!

I'd have no problem with that, but considering she's had 4 wisdom teeth removed today... I'll let someone else do the honours.

I'm smart, but not that smart :P
