Cleaning Yellow of the Engine

My new engine is filthy, much worse than my old B20.

it's covered in yellow stains, I beleve this is oil stains?

is there any way to clean this off bar painting it? any chemicals ect?

Its probably the protective wax it came with from the factory maybe. Try brake cleaner.

ahh well, if it's to protect the metal I better leave it then eh?

I'll just have to paint the intake manifold and cam cover eventually :D

If you take it off it will be fine.

Im not 100% sure but I thought it was for imported vehicles that came over on ships and was to prevent corrosion from the salt air / water.

If you take it off, your valve cover / manifold isnt going to corrode.

Found some thinners downstairs, it's working very well. Just a bit hard atm since the cars on ramps, but at least I know it works :)

This can also be clear laquer that car dealers have sprayed on to give "the look". A look that certainly doesn't "look" later on
