Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Picked up a new E30 yesterday. Pre f/l M20B20. It seems to idle reeally high. Like between 1800 and 2000. It doesn't fluctuate. Its only when its in park/neutral. Have had a real quick look in the dark for vac leaks but can't really see much. Is there an adjuster of some sort or anything like that? The inlet boot seems to be in fairly good nick and doesnt seem to have any visible cracks/gashes. Havent checked plugs/leads etc yet. Anything I should be looking for? Edit: it's an Auto. Silver Fox 43 Report post Posted December 16, 2009 Won't fix the problem Ashkan, more likely vacuum leak or afm problem, they also have a cold start valve don't they, may be that?

*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted December 16, 2009 Where is this cold start valve. Under the inlet manifold. Has 2 water hoses & 2 vacuum hoses. Make sure the water hoses are not blocked and have flow. Put the valve in a fridge for a while and see if it opens...then put it in hot water to see if it closes. If it doesnt do that get another one. If it does recheck that the water hoses arent blocked. Also check the TPI switch.
