[E30]SI Board.

Recommended Posts

Well, since I've had the car, the Service indicator board has only half worked...

the row of LED's don't light up at all, but eventually an "oil change" or a "service" light will pop up.

it's the one with Lithium batteries, and not NMHi AA's...

Any Ideas?

Going to Pull the cluster out tomorrow, so just asking first see see if anyone has any Ideas.. (have to fix the fuel light)

Didn't think the SI board effected the fuel gauge. I know it can play havoc with the tach, temp and economy gauges though.

My temp gauge wasn't working, replaced the SI batteries and haven't had any issues since.

There is quite a lot of information on Bimmerforums.com

Oh, I think the bulbs just blown for the Light...

Hmm, Unfortunately it doesn't use batteries... everything else works... hmm maybe it just has a dry joint or something stopping the LED's from working...

oh well, I've got a new soldering station to play with :)

Is there any way to check if those lights are working? I suspect that some of them might not be working on my dash...

Use a multimeter on diode test and check each LED.

Depending on multimeter, the LED will glow slightly
