bekker 7 Report post Posted January 30, 2010 Hi guys, Car failed WOF and this was one of the things it failed on. Weighing up whether to fix it or replace it. Are these difficult to replace? I'm assuming the whole shock and spring assembly has to be lowered down. Can anyone give me an idea approx how many hours work it is for a reasonably competent home mechanic? BM WORLD 1265 Report post Posted January 30, 2010 easy job . just unbolt the complete shock/spring tower , one big bolt at the bottom , 3 small bolts in teh bott under side carpet . losen top mount centre bolt get a spring compressor to compress the spring then unbolt the shock top mount . or just swap in a second hand strut , i have some $40 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
