dirtydoogle 383 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 (edited) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-279480744.htm I'm not sure what to think about this....Looks like a series one [early vn] motor, which had 121kw....waste of time don't you think? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-278878592.htm Last time I saw this car it had just over 200km on the clock. Bit of a typo on the milage then? Can somebody ask him to correct this as my tardme account is on the blink. I love 3.8 transplants in anything. Pretty sure series 1 motors had metal injector rails, but can't figure out if they are or not lol.
antil33t 90 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 I quite liked that E34 with 1UZ swap. Ecotec supercharged would be kinda fun in an E34 too.

Yes, complete waste of time I reckon. Get an M30 http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-278878592.htm Last time I saw this car it had just over 200km on the clock. That would make it about right - somewhere north of 210k
[email protected] 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2010 Doesn't really seem like an advantage to have that motor. With all that effort they could have put something more powerful in there.

Well said, not too sure why someone would goto the effort of doing all that on a 120kw engine with as much torque as a mute. WOFT = Waste of F@#%%^ time IMO. Pretty sure series 1 motors had metal injector rails, but can't figure out if they are or not lol.I love the 3.8 idea too, just not in an e34. Better off with a light car. I quite liked that E34 with 1UZ swap. Ecotec supercharged would be kinda fun in an E34 too. Ecotec S/C makes less power and same torque as a 1uz and both need a new eprom or map to run a manual, what an effort! A Holden 253ci makes the same torue as both of them...as does an e46 m3 =PPerhaps it's in miles on trademe? That would make it about right - somewhere north of 210kHis speedo is in km's though....I know the car had a second hand motor thrown in at 200k, due to neglect. Doesn't really seem like an advantage to have that motor. With all that effort they could have put something more powerful in there. Like a decent chev? Cheap and more power/less wiring.Well said, not too sure why someone would goto the effort of doing all that on a 120kw engine with as much torque as a mute. WOFT = Waste of F@#%%^ time IMO.Gutless motor in a car that size isn't it? A 535i would have it for breakfast, whilst being better on gas and usually with the sexy interior!
