E39 528i windscreen wipers not working properly

Hey guys,

I've been looking all over the web to find an answer to this but haven't managed to - hopefully one of you can help.

My new E39 has issues with the windscreen wipers.

When put into position 1 (intermittent), the wipers wipe continuously with no pause (like position 2).

The speed/sensitivity dial on the stalk makes no difference whatsoever.

Looking at the front of the rear view mirror - it looks like it does have a rain sensor, so I assume it does.

I've cleaned the area above the sensor so there is no dirt/wax. There are no stone chips either.

Any ideas??

I noticed Brent you are wrecking the same car a E39 touring, a few years older than OP's.

Have you sold the cup holder heater fin casing surround (rear) it has two holders in that silver wagon, if not how much?

Also how much for original tool's from the kit and jack from that car.
