Heater Issues/Climate Control

Im having problems with the fan controls on my climate control (E46 323i) when you turn the fan speed up it works up until just over half power then dies out and or sometimes intermittent

Is it the motor? or the climate control unit? heat and ac work in terms of temperature just not blowing hard enough etc...

Final stage resistor pack is on the way out i would say, If you want second hand i would dare say Ray or Brent can help you out.

I think the E 46 uses and electronic fan control not switched resistor pack like the E36, the E36 resistor pack only operates on lower settings and usually craps out on settings 1 or 2 on full power the fan is switched directly to 12 V

So the symptoms you have are the reverse of the E36 suggesting it is not a resistor pack

Waste of time putting in a second hand one, they ALL crap out eventully.

The only question is how long will a second handy last?

New ones last quite alot longer i'dsay.
