johnm51 0 Report post Posted July 4, 2010 (edited) Hi guys my name is John and new to this forum. I'm looking at buying my first BM. At the moment I drive a 2004 Calais V6 (wife) and a 2002 SS ute V8. I am looking at buying an E46 2001/02 but unsure wheather to get 325 or 330? Japan import or not? I believe Singapore is no good because of its humidity?? New Zealand new seem to be higher k's and more dollars. Greatful for any of your experiences Cheers John Edited July 4, 2010 by johnm51
JaseNZ 53 Report post Posted July 4, 2010 Hi and welcome to the forum. I was sort of in the same position as you when i went looking to upgrade my e36 to e46. I had a look at a lot of cars but in the end settled on my m spec'ed 325. Sure the 330 has alot more horse power but for what. We can only do 100kph on the open road and if you are getting around town there seems no point IMO to have a zillion horse power. I took a few 330's for a spin and to be honest i did not feel an overwhelming difference between them and the 325 I ended up purchasing. All depends on what sort of $$ you are looking to spend and what you really want. Best advice have a good look around and take as many for a test drive as you can to find the one you really want. Oh and make sure you get a pre purchase inspection from a bmw workshop to show up any hidden problems.
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted July 4, 2010 If your wanting manual...330 manuals are hard to find...328 manuals are a little bit more common...but still hard to find. Where are you situated ? (maybe update your profile) it can & does help
myniu 0 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 Personal opinion I looked at a few 325 and 330 three months ago. Usually 330 would have better specs putting on and price-wise the two models are quite similar. But in the end, two models are both great to get, so it really depends if you can find one in good condition.
*Glenn* 854 Report post Posted July 5, 2010 As previously mentioned...what ever model you decide on buying, make sure you get a very thorough prepurchase inspection by either a dealer or an independent BMW specialist. DO NOT use any other organisation to inspect a vehicle before you buy.
