Idle Help

Recommended Posts

Heres the Deal, my E30 has been off the road for the last 3 weeks.

I changed and painted its valve cover within the 3 weeks. Went to start it today and it was flat so i jumped started it.

Now the car like to idle at 750 rpm but when i pump the gas in neutral it idles at 1.5k and stays at that.

Anyone have any idea what could cause this ?? Cheers Guys.

Pick a part. Take some penetrate spray, a couple nuts (to do the double nut trick) and a couple ten mm spanners. done. Take a whole bunch off the car while your at it.

put two nuts on the thread. back grip the bottom nut and nip up the top nut against the bottom one. then undo the bottom nut and it should wind the thread out. the top nut basically locks the bottom one from moving. make sure to use penetrate aswell. if your getting them from pickapart grab the whole lot and chuck them in your pocket. freebie

did you manage to get the broken stud out?

its a "fun" job. just make sure you drill straight and that the drill bit is the correct size for the easyout. P.S dont drill too far in.lol again penetrate helps chur

If you have enough thread to work with some decent vice grips work well to remove the stud, that's what worked for me when I did it. The stud diameter is quite narrow, so if using a easy out a careful hand is needed.
