oil filter tool

Recommended Posts

I understand there is a special tool that is used to loosen the oil filter housing on the M44.

Where can I get one - good quality special price.

also is a generic oil filter as good as an OEM or should I get one from Gavin and what brand/type of oil should i use.

Will get oil local (Repco or Supercheap)

Ours are genuine, but you might be able to buy one from a specialist tool supplier like Sulco Tools. I don't know what companies you have down there in Timaru though. You could carefully use a set pf polley grips but dont squeeze too hard the top is made of plastic. You could try asking a local garage who they use for specialist tools.

We only use genuine, a well branded oil filter like Ryco would be fine to use

and what brand/type of oil should i use.

A 15w40 standard or semi synthetic oil is fine for a M44
