E36 M50B20 idle issues

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys having some trouble with a car

Went to start up the E36 320i (Manual if it matters) as it sat and sat for months then the battery went dead... so didnt want the new battery to die... it hasnt been driven in a couple of months either..

so i started up from dead cold and its pulsing like a retarded Rotor

The car was condensating inside alot as it sat closed up for a good 2 months so maybe moisture has got somewhere or the ECU is in learn or limp mode since the batt went dead flat and has been changed?

Or somethings buggered or stuck? idle valve?

Anyway the video will explain what I mean, im not touching the accelorator at all in the Video!

It drives fine until you put the clutch in then it does the weird hunting and pulsing rubbish again 'till its back in gear

No warnings lights or faults showing on the dash or OBC

Thanks in Advance!

Get it scanned first... could be a number of things causing this. Air leaks, sensors or crankcase ventilator valve
