deeveus 81 Report post Posted August 16, 2010 Very interesting side by side vs a 335d and 335i - not a nell of alot in it all in all.
mrad01 0 Report post Posted August 16, 2010 Both are bloody good fun. I owned a 335i and have had days in the 335d. No doubt that the 335d is astonishing - but when it comes to all out *fun* and throttle response - the petrol still has the edge. If you are in to fuel economy AND speed - the 335d is kick ass! The one thing the diesel doesn't get anywhere near is exhaust note. The diesel is boring - but hey, can't complain when 580 torques are pushing you around! Nope, I have 600 of them myself and even though it's some 500kg more it's still a good drive. I'm kinda considering a 3 series diesel. Can't afford a 335d but looking at perhaps a new 320d or late model 330d.

While not in 335d territory, it would probably still be a blast!
Tristan 338 Report post Posted August 16, 2010 320d is still a lot of fun. Used one in the BMW Driver Training at Puke.
Driftit 2078 Report post Posted August 16, 2010 Would love a 335d estate. They had one in at Team McMillan a few months back in Motorsport form. Black too. Mmmm. Same tourqe and KW as my 540. Was $114k though.
cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted August 17, 2010 I read somewhere that the new 320d did UK to Munich and back on one tank or about 1000 miles now that's what i call economy!
