Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 (edited) Guys, I just picked up a brand new pair of Depo headlights with Angel Eyes for a good price. (They are the same ones on TM from Eurolights) There is a wiring diagram - see below - but I don't understand how that will work. It just seems to be wiring it up to the battery without any connection to the switch? I'm not particularly flash at wiring so keen to get your help - how will that work?? Thanks! Lucan 196 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 They should plug in at the back. No wiring work needed? Or are you talking about wiring in the angel eyes?
Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 (edited) I thought it would be simple, but see the diagram. Like when you install an HID kit, there is a separate plug going from the existing wiring to know when to power it. I can't figure that out with these? I'm being a muppet so hopefully someone can provide clarity. Haha They should plug in at the back. No wiring work needed? Or are you talking about wiring in the angel eyes? Lucan 196 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 The diagram isn't to scale. Looks like that's basically the loom down the the headlights. Find those wire and splice in to match the wires to the ones shown in the picture. To clarify, what is the excess wiring for? Angel eyes, or headlights? Got a pic of the actual product you bought? Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 It looks like what the diagram doesn't show is splicing the cable into the plug with 4 pins (see last photo). This is what you mean Blackie? It's all wired up to that plug with 4 pins....
Lucan 196 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Nope that plug with 4 pins matches up with another from the car loom. Look inside the engine bay, there's a plug that screws into that 4pin input. The wiring needed will be for the angel eyes, looks like you can DIY splice into you parking lights. The headlight and highbeam will still work without the angel eyes though. Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 8, 2010 Got ya, that makes sense. So I could just splice the Angel Eyes into the parking lights as I want them to be my parking lights. Thanks mate - legend.
Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 14, 2010 Turns out these were actually plug and play! If anyone wants photos, let me know. They look awesome.
joshnz 2 Report post Posted September 15, 2010 More details man! im after some nice angel eyes .. how easy to attach inside the headlights? got any pics?
Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 15, 2010 Josh, I'll take some pics later. I actually picked up brand new sealed Depo units with Angel Eyes instead of park lights - like the E39 ones. They are these ones on TradeMe here (although I paid nowhere near that much) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=317416559 I looked into LED angels to attach to existing headlights, and Umnitza looked the best. Think Nick's pretty clued up about the options. More details man! im after some nice angel eyes .. how easy to attach inside the headlights? got any pics? Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) Josh, here you go! You can see they don't look too unlike the OEMs Took about an hour to do, all plug and play. Edited September 16, 2010 by brunch
joshnz 2 Report post Posted September 16, 2010 Awesome man, they look pretty sweet! Thanks for the pics So you bought the full headlight kit not just the angel eyes? I'm keen to get just the eyes and attempt to install them myself (which I'll prob f**k up )
Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 16, 2010 No worries man. Yeah they're the complete headlight. I was too worried that I'd ruin a pair of good headlights by doing DIY! But the LED Umnitzas do look sick. Awesome man, they look pretty sweet! Thanks for the pics So you bought the full headlight kit not just the angel eyes? I'm keen to get just the eyes and attempt to install them myself (which I'll prob f**k up )

Smac01 12 Report post Posted September 26, 2010 Off trademe. You can buy them off Eurolights but think they're around $550 incl shipping from Aussie. I didn't pay that much! They look really good, where did you get them?
