In Malaysia, the wearing of seatbelts among rear passengers was just only recently made compulsory. Here's a funny advert for it from Malaysia's carmaker, Proton. The car featured in the ad is a Proton Waja.

They actually called their car a Saga??? Doesn't bode well for a happy motoring experience if you ask me!

Still, I guess it's no worse than the Chevy Nova in South America (no va in spanish is no go) or the MR2 in France (merde - sh*t) or Toyota Enima etc etc etc.

You can get some Proton's with some pretty decent Mitsubishi Engines (they are just a Mitsi Lancer/Mirage most of em')

our family friend had a Proton Saga once, it could float hahaha.

Proton is rebadging Mitsi Lancer again for it's second generation Proton Waja.

It has however came up with it's own (not rebadge from other makes) cars, 5 models actually.

1. Waja 1st generation, the very first own model.

2. Satria Neo, popular in rallies.

3. Persona, also comes with an earlier shorter version called Gen2.

4. Saga latest generation, the smallest model in the range.

5. Exora, their first people-mover.
