O/T Is the Fire Extinguisher a new must have at Taupo? This is the second trackday there that I have seen one required.

OT - But how does this stop you? One is in Taupo and one is in Auckland(ish)? One is a Monday and one is a Saturday?

Every Trackday i've been to either driving or typically marshaling has required a fire extinguisher, the bimmersport one was the exception to that in my experience of 6 trackdays.

over the past 6 years that i have been racing at taupo, im pretty sure it was mandatory for the last 4. otherwise it might just be a club enforcement thing but in my view, i would rather have a (small) extinguisher straight away if need be rather than wait for marshalls to get there.

nothing worse than standing by and watching your car burn

Fiat Car Club had their dual car sprints at Taupo on the weekend, One car had an engine bay fire... Fortunately another competitor stopped to help and with both of them they got the fire out with very minor damage.

Playday recommend but don't require in-car extinguishers
