dickhead 0 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 My e36 just hit 300 thousand kms and I'm pretty impressed considering it's had no engine work done ever, and it has had by no means an easy life. What sort of kms is standard before a rebuild on these things? mine's a m52 2.0. Anyone got more kms on an e36 (without a rebuild)?
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 It's all about care and condition... I would expect 300-400k out of the stock engine... but you never know. If your engine does go, maybe ideal to upgrade to a M52B28? Just saying..
cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 I would have to assume without any work, regular services and a tough life it will not be far away now If i'm right and the m52b20 has no cambelt then i guess that helps your cause, 300k without being well maintained shows the reliability of Bimmers though. 39KiwiTouring 2 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 I would just drive it until you don't want to drive it anymore. A wof inspector will kill it before the engine dies.
