$toffz 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2010 My gf's grandfather has a e39 528i which has been giving him grief lately. Basically what happens is most of the warning lights in speedo cluster start to come on at random intervals everything from the gearbox light to the ACS. The car runs aboslutely fine when most of these lights come on except when the ACS light appears it seems to retard the engine but if he switches it off it runs perfect. He wants to sort this asap. He has taken to his trusted mechanic who has informed him it appears to be a faulty sensor that sits under the front passenger seat. The mechanic stated between $500-600 for the part and fitment. Have any of you come across this before? Does it sound like the right solution and price? Cheers for the help.
