e30 handbrake/hydraulic handbrake Q's

Recommended Posts

Anyone got any info/tips on removing the hand brake cable coupling from the trailing arm (e36 318ti)?

I either need to replace the handbrake cable or install a hydraulic handbrake. Has anyone completed either of these and has any info they can share to make it easier? Any help would be appreciated.

Do you mean where 1 passes through 5? It can corrode in place.

Or do you mean to get 3 off? Remove the spring and its easy (removing the spring isn't - I've done myself an injury doing that when the tool slipped).

Cheers Cam, Yeah 1 through 5, okay that helps a bit i know that more crc and brute force is needed.

Yeah those springs are nasty little c**ts, tore my knuckle off the other day investigating.

Ill just replace the handbrake cable for now and do the hydrolinking later.
