diablo23 1 Report post Posted December 7, 2010 very nice car, btw how much did the bluetooth dice cost? im thinking of upgrading mine next year
matt45 1 Report post Posted December 7, 2010 $440 inc harness to wire from boot to glovebox. Comes with a mic for hands-free phone. and a cradle for ipod/iphone (has dock connector) i didn't install this as there isn't anywhere good to mount it imo. Quite alot of $ for what it is really but if you want to integrate with factory stereo that's the price you pay. can also be used with usb keys etc and firmware can be updated. matt45 1 Report post Posted December 15, 2010 (edited) So bored one night a couple of weeks back i was trolling eBay for no good reason and i came across this and bought one (coz it was cheap and i hadn't seen a car with one in it before). OEM BMW flashlight, and yes i am one of those pedantic people who likes having the original bits to my car haha. Plugs into the AUX power socket in the glove box, TBH its a pretty crap light but no doubt will come in useful. Holding out for my LED's to arrive for the angel eyes Edited December 15, 2010 by Matt45
matt45 1 Report post Posted December 19, 2010 (edited) LED's for Angel eyes in. IRL they dont look as bright as they do in this photo ... much more defined. Very happy with it looks much more modern. LED's are MTEC v2.1 they arn't cheap but supposed to be the best and have massive heatsinks to prevent overheating. matt45 1 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) Escort Passport 9500CI is installed Front: Radar is below number plate 2x laser 1 either side of plate. Rear: Single laser receiver at top of number plate. Inside: Buttons and display Mounted on the optional buttons panel by cup holders, Display is flush mounted but buttons cannot be because some Muppet decided to put the power button on the top of the unit. Speaker and control box are hidden inside dash and USB port is in storage slot under dash. Edited January 29, 2011 by Matt45
matt45 1 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 Jealous. My parents don't want me to get a radar detector even though we have some lying around. Sad right? "It will encourage him to speed" .. Fully would haha! You're parents are probably right haha. Definitely don't use anything cheap because if you get lots of false alarms you get used to it going off all the time and then when its for real you could be screwed coz u ignored it. In the past i've had a Escort X50 and a V1 both have been good.
Tristan 338 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah we've got a V1 lying around and the Beltronics that just came out of dads 911 so I assume it's pretty good. Ah well, I don't speed

matt45 1 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 love it great stealth install, see your car doesnt have heated seats, thats strange if you've got msport leather seats That's what i thought when i got it! .... it started out life with Team McMillan (first 15,000k's) so would have thought they would spec it a little higher. I've been ticket free for a year so far so lets hope that trend continues ... touch wood. Yea thought that mite be the case with the light ... just was the first time i had seen it, kinda cool that u can you the plug as a second 12v aux source. Nav - i've been checking in with ray etc to see if anything nz new comes through for a loom, so far its all been japa with fixed seats (surly folding seats isn't that rare!). Decided to play it safe and not to go the eBay route. Not overly worried if it doesn't happen but would have made a nice spec for a car that's NZ New. I can sort a hardwire for you ... did it in mine just takes a standard rj11 plug like on phones.
Tristan 338 Report post Posted January 29, 2011 I enjoy spirited driving I wish I could use Dad's old one but he'd surely notice since I'm fairly sure you can only hardwire it. I'd have to leave it loose so I could take it out before the parents use my car haha but cheers anyway!
