defi - guages - peak warning not saved

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering if anyone has a set of these that could help?

I've got myself a set of these fandangled Defi guages and the controll unit 2.

http://www.defi-shop.com/product/bf/bf_top.html

I can correct the peak warning however whenever I turn the car power off (via battery kill switch) they return to the old values.

The manual states after setting leave them to return to monitor mode and the will save the new settings. This works until I kill the power.

Anyone have a set of these ? is there something I am missing? Do they always require constant 12v to remember the setting?

If the control unit has a positive permanent 12v feed and a switched feed from the ignition I would say that by isolating the battery you will loose all memory in the control unit, the same as what can happen with sterios.

Did you install the system ?

No I didn't install the system I had a shop do whilst completing other work.

So if I run the permanent power to the battery instead of where it's running now...(I'm going to assume the nearest 12v) I should be sweet until such time as the battery dies or is disconnected.

Wiring diagram shows both 12v ACC & permanent.

Cheers!

You should only loose memory when the permanent 12v supply is interupted. You cant connect it to anything that is switched
