Namit M 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2010 Hi there, I have a 1997 528i and from quite a while now my car clunks every time I change it from P to D or R. It drives fine and shifts gears fine as far as I can tell, its just that I dont like the sound it makes when I change it from Park to drive etc, sounds like something is breaking. Any advice on this topic would be appreciated thanks.
antil33t 90 Report post Posted December 10, 2010 (edited) Can you check the fluid level on these? My mates FTO did something like this when it was low on fluid. May help to add your location, so someone could point you in the right direction for a specialist if need-be. Namit M 0 Report post Posted December 11, 2010 Can check it next week if you like. Call me Monday Thanks for that, but got it checked today in Plunket Ave, its not the gearbox or anything of that sort. The park brakes are on metal LOL and it makes that sound when the shoes rub against the drum. Its all fine now got the shoes changed and no more sound !
