What are the symtoms of the trans in the car? With 5HP30 it can sometimes be an easy fix.

put into reverse and motor revs up slightly, but nothing after that. All forward gears fine - does that help?

Call and I will explain repair process. Requires a $7 part and some patience. Have heard of trans repair specialists charging a few thousand $ to sort the same problem.

a mechanic friend of mine had one in wellington a few months ago, it was removed from the car, sent to hutt automatics (the local auto specialists) who stripped it, changed all of the worn parts costing 1400 (invoice should be available), around this time the customer decided they couldn't afford to fix the car so he was left holding the box... i will check with him tomorrow. if you pm me your phone number i will text you his contact details after i have spoken with him if you like...
