mark247 39 Report post Posted January 18, 2011 I've got this facelift e30 and it has an intermittent fault. Basically, sometimes the wipers and washers just randomly turn on and the only way to stop them is the pull the relay out or turn the car off. I've had teh car for a few weeks and this has happened twice. Last time it managed to fix itself for a week, but it's just come back today. I've replaced the wiper stalk and the relay and I still have the same problem. Does anyone know what it could be? I'm guessing wiring, but I'm confused as both the washers and the wipers are stuck on. They seem to be stuck on the middle speed. If i pull the low speed wire out of the relay it enables me to use the wipers on only full. This is a temporary fix for now. Also I've just unplugged the washer jets. mark247 39 Report post Posted January 18, 2011 Also, when they are stuck on, if i turn the key off when they are sitting perfectly at the bottom of the wiper windshield ( if i turn the key off at any other point they just stop where ever ) then when i turn the key on they wont start up again until i flick the stalk.
