dubman 39 Report post Posted February 12, 2011 After spending 2 months in China visiting relatives, i have been in Geely's, Chery's, and BYD's; old and new. They are cheap cars, both in price and quality. All they are good for is to travel from A to B. China borrows alot of technology from overseas car companies. What you are getting is a cheap knockoff of other branded cars. These cars are great for around town, and thats about it. As for maintenance....well, you dont really need it. Some drivers in China dont know what engine oil is lol. Plus these cars run fine with petrol on a daily basis thats worse than NZ 91 petrol quality. As for safety, what do think a cheap new car's gonna be made of? High quality materials and NCAP 3 stars and above technology? Yea right
