MGL 4 Report post Posted March 9, 2011 So I got a golf, Its a MK3, 2.0, auto in the handy wagon format. Towed it home as it didnt go (purchased not running) You'd turn it over, and everything on the dash turned on, but no love. I got it home, found that I was getting no spark and no fuel. fuel was under pressure- just no injector pulses. Pretty easy, figured it was a crank sensor. seems to be the only thing appart from a faulty ECU that would cause both no spark and no fuel. I went and turned it over the other day and it fired straight up- no probs? ran smooth, and I drove it around the block no worries. I figued it was the crank sensor still, and unplugged it while the car was running, and it kept going! Should that happen? THe crank sensor on it appears to be in the dizzy and theres a plug on the side of it (I got this from VW Vortex) if you unplug it, it keeps going?! Or am I unplugging something different? Any help with this would be much appreciated. Cheers guys!
Yankus 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2011 Could be crank sensor, could be faulty immobiliser, would need to get it checked properly.
