E30 clutch fluid leaking into drivers footwell

Recommended Posts

Anybody else had this happen to them? The fluid seems to be seeping through the seal on the firewall and into the cabin of the car. It is flowing out pretty quickly too, and now my clutch doesn't work.

Does it sound like a seal on the master cylinder has gone or something? If I do need to change the master cylinder should I be changing the slave at the same time?

Cheers.

yes and yes is your answer

Master cylinder, Edit however check lines to the master too, just incase

the slave will most likely be as old as the car and you best change that too for reliability

Cheers for that. I'll get under the car to double check everything but sounds like I'll be adding clutch master and slave to my (long) list of things to buy for this car! I'm just stoked I didn't have the carpet in the car when this happened haha.
