Hi guys

Ive recently brought what I think is a m50b25 off trademe

can anyone confirm that it is a 2.5L and not a 2.0L

Ive tried searching the net but the block numbers dont make sence

ecu numbers

bosch motronic

0261200402

wbac22010fa <--- sounds like a chassis number but cant decode it

06547

07797/07797

1744773

block numbers

33920058

20 6 s 1 <-- tells me its a 2.0L 6cyl

25c91 <-- cast into block

1735813 <-- also in block

head number

2.0

1720901

I just want to confirm it is what it is before I go back to the seller

Realy dont want to waste my time fitting it to my e30

thanks

Jeremy

FA06547 belongs to a 02/1992 manufactured E36 saloon RHD auto 320i, European. Looks like the ECU has been swapped at some stage........

Funny you say that. This is a picture of my spare engine.

It came from an E34, but it has E36 stamped on it. Was auto. I am almost 100% sure it is a b25, I will measure the bore later on when I get home.

I have another M50, I will post the block numbers of if you would like to look those up aswell, as I am 150% sure it is a b25.

Edit: Just measured, it is 84mm so definatly b25.

Edit2: NVM, I see you just quoted the wrong post, as the block numbers you posted to not match my block, but match the OP's

gutted to hear that man, if the seller sold it to you as a 2.5 then the balls in their court as far as liability goes, even if it was a genuine mistake on their part. i hope you bought it locally, then the whole process of returning the engine and getting your money back shouldnt be too much of a faff. if they aren't cooperating then take it to the disputes tribunal, it'l be a very open and shut case for them. hope it all goes smoothly for you and you can get your car finished quickly, nz needs more e30m50s!

I think I used e34 m20 mounts, grind the location tab off them and they fit great.
