Shorty 1 Report post Posted May 18, 2011 It has been suggested/recommended that I flush my engine as if you remove the oil cap there is corrosion on the underside of it, which would only mean there is corrosion throughout my engine. I have a 98 E36 328i (M52) its done 154000kms. Could someone explain to me the process of doing this, and also what is the best product to use for this? Thanks Shorty
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted May 18, 2011 they all seam to get a bluid up of sludge in the oil cap and the underside of the rocker cover. i would remove the rocker cover first and clean it out. then buy some engine flush stuff like wynns etc add to the engine run for 30mins then drain oil and replace oil and oil filter. Cheers - lucky it wasn't my rocker cover gasket leaking oil - would be rather annoyed if I took that off last night then had to take it off again to clean. Could the rust/corrosion have come from short run condensation?
