E46 Windscreen Demister Stuck on Hot

Hey guys, I was driving home yesterday, and turned on the demister to clear the fog on my windscreen.

But I noticed it was blowing out hot air, even though I have the Air cond on, and the temperature set to the lowest (16°C). Is this normal?

It blows out cold air as it should when I set the blower to blow out the front / foot well vents...

Did you mean the button with icon that's fan-shape with 3 arrows going up (top right corner)? Pretty sure that's normal. Whenever you use that button, it automatically set to max fan-speed and max-temp, air-con on with fresh air (not recirculate) to clear to fog in shortest time. It does this regardless of what you've set just before pressing the button.

Hm, its interesting - I've had the car for a couple of year, but its the first time I noticed it...

I tried it again yesterday, but I think its back to "normal" - i.e, it blows out cold air when I tell it to. Quite strange...
