Creaver 55 Report post Posted May 23, 2011 (edited) Hey guys, i'm currently considering selling my e34 540i which I converted to 6 speed. I would be keeping her, but I intend to go overseas next year and holding onto it doesn't make a lot of sense at this point. Thousands of dollars has been spent on this car in my ownership alone getting it running how it should be. I have nearly all receipts as proof. A quick list of note-worthy things. Lowered on H&R springs and bilstein shocks e39 fitment genuine staggered 17" AC Schnitzer type 2 rims (8.5/9.5) 3.45LSD Larger 540iS sway bars (25mm front, 18mm rear...standard is 23mm/15mm) JB Racing Lightweight flywheel OEM Sachs clutch All new parts during manual conversion (apart from the majors obviously). The car currently has about 230,000km? Need to confirm. Genuine Front M5 bumper Exhaust system The best I have run was a 13.95 at Meremere on road tyres, and a noob dragracer (ME!). This car should be able to hit mid 13's easy and with enough practice even better... I have a spare set of 15" basketweaves and a set of 17" replica AC Schnitzer Type 2 rims with ex NZV8 racing slicks on. One of the slicks has delaminated and is showing canvas. Downsides: Front bumper is currently painted blue and mismatched to the calypso body, it also has no front grill or kidneys (have these in garage, but not fitted). The rear left guard currently has a patch of white lithium paint on it as it is down to the bare metal. The car currently lacks a decent chunk of it's interior, but I have nearly all parts which can be reinstalled. Tonnes more that I can't think of at the moment, this is a very regrettable decision. Creaver 55 Report post Posted May 23, 2011 An option is to purchase the car and part off the rest of it... Would probably make it worthwhile if you had the time/space/incentive to do it. Just an idea for those thinking about converting their own
Creaver 55 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 (edited) A few extra things which I remembered when not half a sleep. -Hawk HP Plus brake pads all around -braided stainless brake lines -running motul dot5.1 fluid -redline fluid run in gearbox -powerflex rear subframe bushes -akg trailing arm bushes -nolathaned rear strut mounts -z3 short shift -powerflex sway bar bushes -basically the whole front end was rebuilt about 1yr ago -engine mounts replaced Oct 2010 -electric fan installed in place of viscous, currently wired so it is always running (did this while it was my daily driver as needed the car going ASAP for work the next day...never got around to wiring it up to the temp switch) -ALWAYS regularly serviced -I just removed the tow-bar about 2-3weeks ago including wiring, this is still lying around and can be sold separately if others are interested. -the black trim on both rear doors is missing. I recently purchased all of the clips to reinstall the trim, but havnt gotten around to purchasing the trim yet. -rear tyres have camber wear on genuine ACS -basketweaves have no tyres (except for one which is currently my spare) -e36 m3 3spoke steering wheel wired up to have working airbag -oh....and it has a sunroof haha WOF expires next month, but would get new one for potential owner I'm certain there is still more to mention and will add as I remember Edited May 24, 2011 by Ian 540i6
Michael. 2313 Report post Posted May 24, 2011 That is good value, if more potential buyers could understand where the value is. A pity you're selling it Ian, but you have your reasons!
