bellicose 9 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 So what's all the fuss about? Some guy enters a shitter in some rally and comes 3rd in HIS (obscure) class. The event was not a WRC event and if it was a WRC event he would've been a hypothetical 23rd. For all the people who think he came 3rd in a WRC event and beat all the "big" names need to do a bit more research.

This is Hollywood we are talking about here John, since when have they ever let the facts get in the way of a good story (just look at some of their versions of history shown in films!!)??True, the guy didn't actually come third in the WRC, but it is still a "feel good" story of the little guy underdog taking it to to the big boys, and winning (almost!!). Plus it has an E30 in it, so it must be good!!

They'll have Bill Caswell winning the WRC with a $500 E30, a jack, a 14mm ring spanner and 1 spare tyre. Then they'll send him and his car to Iraq and Afghanistan to bring a halt to the crime that the US call a war on a noun. "The War on Terror"
E30 325i Rag-Top 2956 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 Sadly, you are right and that is far too likely to happen. I can see the closing shot now.... guy stood there in amongst the bombed buildings of Iraqistan with his race suit on, baseball cap in hand, shouting USA! USA! with a Mustang in the background (which has replaced the E30 in the story and then been used as an APC) then fading out to the Stars'n'stripes fluttering in the wind with the credits rolling over the top. Hopefully it won't get totally spoiled and the story will be reasonably accurate, but we shall have to wait and see..wonder if it will make it to the cinemas here or it will be a straight to DVD release? bellicose 9 Report post Posted June 14, 2011 Straight to DVD i think, not really a main stream theme, until................................................Bill becomes a "war" hero then the great mass of American patriots will help it win an oscar haha.
