3.0 CSL Turbo Group 5

While reading through the latest G-Force Mag (Not a bad mag for $10 by the way).

I cam across the 3.0 CSL Turbo, the Group 5 BMW WORKS car...all 750hp of it.

Trying to find some more info and possible an engine pic?

The group 5 E21 320's were turbo, the group 5 (ISMA really) CSL's were not.

Hot motor, distance between the inlet and exhaust cams makes it seem as though its a V engine at first glance :S

I must admit, that is one I had not heard of before, but according to www.touringcarracing.net there were definately two different versions of CSL, pictures show distinctly different cars, one turbo, one not.

There was turbo and non turbo versions of the CSL, as well as turbo and non turbo versions of the E21 320i, plenty of pics about on the net:)

I have plenty of pictures claiming the car is the CSL Turbo but none of the engine bay to prove it...

If you find any please post link/picture.

The most famous CSL Group 5 Turbo would have to be the Frank Stella "art car", unfortunately as it is an art piece most photos only concentrate on the outside of the car, with very little detail of the mechanicals, even though it was a flly fledged race car.

Not the real thing, but a photo shot of the engine bay from one of the die-cast models of the art car:
