Venatus 2 Report post Posted September 12, 2011 Has anyone please got any suggestions for me? One of the subframe bolts on my e30 has snapped clean off, leaving about half an inch of bolt up in the threads. I have soaked it for ~3 days in penetrant spray, then drilled through it, then twisted an extractor off inside it. None of my drill bits will even really scratch the extractor. Im guessing Ill have to tow it to an engineer to do something about it, but dont even really know what kind of engineer to look for, and Ill have to get it all rolling again, no front suspension at all currently. (Cant really weld anything to it, theres not enough room as its recessed inside the threads.) Another option I guess is get a more expensive drill bit in the hopes of just destroying everything, but I dont know if Ill be able to retap it without going up a bolt size, which then needs subframe mods etc. Or, should I just give up and buy another chassis? Any ideas would be a help, thanks...
